Question Two tone vn-vp's. Anyone got any pics?

I'm going to paint my car later in the year when it warms up a bit and i have saved enough $$$ to do it. I was thinking of a two tone but i'm really having trouble picking out colours. I was originally going to do one colour all over, but i think it might need to be broken up a bit. I had burnt orange picked as a single colourAnyone got pics of two tone vn-vp's? I'm not looking to copy anyone's paint, i just need to see a few different examples to get an idea of what looks best as far as where the colours are seperated, and what a dark colour versus a bright colour looks like top and bottom etc.
Any pics/ideas/comments/suggestions/CONSTRUCTIVE criticism/advice will be very much appreciated.
    Cheers.
    Matt.

P.S. I did do a search and i didn't find anything that helps me out, that's why i posted this thread

Yeah i was thinking of burnt orange and another colour above or below it. Something like phantom black above the orange would look good i think. And i was thinking of seperating the colours a little bit further up past the rubber door strips with a marble pinstripe.

There was a two tone VN SS on these forums, i cant remember the guys name, it was silver top and black bottom, was intersting, needed somthing to break up the colors though.
And also, kev's, (rice eata), his VN is phoenix red with matt black roof, very nice.
    Will try and find pics

Paradox's old VN with the Group A kit had the two tone white over silver i think it was. That looked sweet as: VN Calais Turbo

This is Kev (rice-eata)'s VN the Phoenix red / black roof. It's as tough as guts, but now he is going rice and buying a Rexxy. For shame:

That calais looks really classy. Nice job Paradox!
What colours would go well with phoenix red? The paint is nearly perfect, so i could put another colour below the phoenix red and it would be a hell of a lot cheaper. I don't think orange would go with phoenix red, it would probably have to be a dark silver or smokey grey etc.

Me likey! I could see myself driving that for sure, there's just no way of doing it without directly copying it
Do you reckon he would mind if i did mine like that?

Dude you could almost buy it off him once he buys his rice burner.

I reckon MAYBE a gunmetal grey over a phoenix red. I couldn't think of any other colours that might look good. Probably why Kevvy jumped at the idea and did black over red.

    Is your VN Phoenix red?

He wont ditch the Vn coby...

You could do a similar thing as kev, but instead of just the roof, maybe continue on with the line that runs down the side of car, and do bonnet and boot too.

I dunno man, eventually once he gets his Rexxy (if at all) i reckon he will get rid of the VN for extra mod cash. But anyways.

Or maybe take the colour scheme that Kev used, and do it in the same style as Paradox.
It's a KINDA hard thing to make two tone look good. You have to sit down and make sure you think about it properley and have it done properley unless you are a wizz with a paint gun. If you don't do it right, it will look especially homosexual.

    LOL
That's true, i won't be painting it myself, i'll pay a mate to help me do it (panel beater/spraypainter). I really like the black roof on the phoenix red, my car is already phoenix red so i would only have to buy materials to do the roof and pillars. I already have gloss black m3 style mirrors that would compliment a black top half nicely.

I don't think Kev would mind too much, he is a ****ing good bloke and i couldn't see him cracking it because of that, but it might pay to send him a courtesy PM via the SC forum anyways just to play it safe.

That's a good idea mate, i think that's what i'll end up doing. That way i won't be directly copying him too

    Damn.
That hornet scoop looks sexy as hell.
The paint scheme is killer too.
I have a hornet scoop sitting in the shed. I had sat it on the bonnet at one stage but didnt think it would look good wthout a full kit.
Well I know what I will be doing with the rest of my holidays. hehe.

Does he have a hole cut under that scoop?
Or any pics of the engine bay etc?

I was at one stage going to fit the hornet reverse like a cowl nduction scoop on the old LH/LX SLR5000's. It doesnt look too bad. This was all so I could run a 180 degree bend upwards off the intake manifold and forwards so I could make an airbox that sealed against the bonnet and drew cold air straight from the scoop. But I think the 180 degree bend would kill performance.
