    Default coolant boiling.. no pressure?

ive never had any drama \/\/ith my cooling system but my \/\/ater pump has started leaking a i little and no\/\/ the car is overheating and theres a build up of pressure in the overflo tank especially \/\/en the engine i shut off and it starts to dra\/\/ back. could it be losing pressure from the leak in the pump? im hoping thats the only reason for the boiling,

head gasket \/\/ould get oil in the overflo correct? scuse the "\/\/" my keybourd is a bit rooted

of course it will be letting air into the system, if you have air in the system the temperature will go up above normal temperature

And air in the system plus heat is a really really bad mix. You'll crack or warp something if you don't fix it soon. Get that water pump done ASAP, and while your at it if your in a position to then replace the hoses and belt as well. That way, your set for a few years.

Indeed... or the top line could be loose. Check the hoseclips on that one - runs from tank behind the p/s pump to just behind the alternator. Prob won't leak but it will hiss steam.

my brain hurts after reading that first post...

of course its going to over heat if pressure cannot build in the system and stay in the system, water will leak letting more air, air exapands forcing more water out the hole til the water boils then it will over heat!

ive just put this engine in everything has been done, i had the water pump off to machine it back to bare metal, like everthing else. im a parts interperator, my overflow tank is completely white with nice green coolant in it, my hoses are black and polished and my belt is tighter than... yeah loll. there is a pinhole leak because one of the bolt snapped and i guess the genuine gaskets are a bit thin, i dont like using gasket sealer so that may be an issue.. just thought id play it safe and check with everyone before i start stressing out

the best part was replacing the coroded clamps with expensive rip off gm ones loll, like $3 a clamp, it pays off though. to bad its a v6 and ill never see the money im spending on it all the time

but this is the outcome, 100% grease free v6 with nice new exhaust manifolds and a resprayed engine bay
