    Default manual/auto diffs

    ok guys i recently got a vn which need the rear lower bushes to be replaced not knowing what i was gettin into ive bent 1 of the plates that the bush goes thru.
    im stuck in my driveway so i think i may need a new diff are manual/auto diffs the same my vn is a 5speed

    cant you bend it back? yes the diffs are the same.

    nah its the rhs inner plate theresa no room to swing a hammer..so i dont know if i should pay the 120-170 for another diff or pull out this on and take it somewhere to get fixed both a pain as the vn is my only car

    If you bent it there you can bend it back, get a rod of steel and bash that on it

    get some futher away pics, anything can be fixed unless the car is in 2 peices :P

    ive managed to get it straight a little and get the bush thru most of the way but the last inch wont budge any ideas

    your probly better of makeing a tool up for it with a piece of pipe some threaded bar 2 nuts (for the threaded bar) and 2 big strong washers...i have attached the tool that i have (was a made up tool that my grandfather made years ago) it will take a bit of force to turn the nuts but make sure you support the two parts of teh metal as shown as if not you can bend them in and cause problems ...more then what you have done

    pleas note the direction of bush arrow is not referring to the spacer/piece of pipe (that it looks to be pointing to) ....its just saying the direction of the bush so the tool works lol

    any1 in geelong got 1 of these tools i'm stuck at home cashflow is really low and i cant find anything to make 1 up someone please HELP!

    i noticed the other day when i was at my local automotive outlet store that noltec does a bush kit for the rear lower trailing arm bushes that includes a tube and associated bits to pull the old bushes out and pull the new bushes in etc. not sure, but maybe it would be of use to you

    i would have in by now if i had the cash i spent my last few dollars on engine mounts and front link pin kit
