    Default engine oil leak

my s1 calais leaks engine oil when on a steep hill facing upwards, doesnt leak from engine operation at all, thinkin either sump or rear main but seeing as its only when parked on steep hill most likely sump gasket. any ideas?

p.s. kinda crippled with a broken leg atm so cant get under and check it

its most likely your sump gasket mate, you sure its oil engine or not trans?

i reccomend getting a mate to jump under and give all the sump bolts you can get to a tighten, they will be loose! i bet thats your leak mate!

this is a very common problem due to the gasket expansion, the bolts get untorqued over the years, i had a leak from my v8 rear, got under and tightened all the sump bolts and bingo not a single leak

but it could also be the trans extesion housing seal (where tail shaft connects) they go commonly aswell, and the oil might be collecting dirt on its way down and looking engine oil colour.. its something to consider

my advice is get a mate whose not broken :P supply beer, and clean the whole under neath, drive it for a bit (ie make it leak) then identify the leak, but it cant hurt to tighten the sump bolts
