Hey guys,
Last night my turbo 700 in my VP V8 Wagon shifted into 2nd by itself when I held it in first!!!!
Also when Im doing skids (on private roads) and I hold it in first it will shift to 2nd as well...
Is this normal or is my new reco box stuffed??
Thanks
Arif

sounds alot like a safety feature, to stop you canning yuor car (not that it seems to be working :P)
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
i thought the VN/VP boxes didnt have that feature lol.... only the electronic boxes from VR onwards? is the linkage is adjusted properly for the gear selector?
Thats what I thought, It shouldnt have this feature....![]()

yeah they have that feature.... you cant blow your car up in 1st... will always shift....
aZk.
My VQ never had this but the VT does.
You're all good dioxide, it may or may not be a standard T700 feature, but all the shift-kitted autos I know do this.
The standard T700 out of a VN 8 does not shift up when its in first.
Thats correct, VN/VP should stay in their selected gear (1st or 2nd) and NOT shift up on their own.
No it won't, VN/VP auto's should stay in 1st or 2nd when that is the gear that is selected and just bounce off the rev limiter.
Shift kitted auto's do NOT shift up on their own...That is partly the POINT of a shift kit, to keep it in the selected gear.
ok, got it booked in back at auto shop. They are fixing it up for me![]()

Bugger.
My auto shifts up to second when you hammer it in first as well.
Did they tell you what the problem could be?
Mine has just on 340,000K's on it so guessing something is warn inside and somehow bypassing hydraulic pressure or squeezing pressure where it shouldnt and making it shift?
