I had a VQ on LPG and it worked from the cluster. No extra gauge for gas. Will be hard to find a switch to suit the dash so just try and find a spot where it doesnt get noticed.

no idea how gas works, but making a switch out of where the aircon one is would be neat. In a wagon its got the rear wiper next to it leaving one free?

my VT is dual fuel (gas and petrol) They just put an extra button next to the steering wheel in the dash, and the original fuel gauge changes depending wheher your on gas or petrol.

The existing fuel gauge can be made to work using the sender from the LPG tank, including on VN or VR Calais. The gauge will then read the tank level for whichever fuel is being used, as for adam69's VQ and coo dawg's VT.

The trip meter uses a calculation based on injector pulse width to display the fuel consumption rate. That will still be as for petrol and therefore not accurate on LPG. (Hopefully the LPG installer will disable the petrol fuel system on LPG in such a way as to leave the injector pulse width available - there are few ways in which that can be done.)

There are a few types of LPG switch around. The neatest, if it is the VR being converted, is probably the factory style LPG switch which goes in the dash. If it is the VN or you don't like the factory switch for the VR, easiest will be to ask your installer for examples. There is a requirement under the LPG standard (AS1425-2003) that says the switch must indicate which fuel it is that is being used, so you can't use just any switch without ensuring that is the case.

gas has been installed on my car today all works well apart from the ugly lpg gauge that they put in

does anyone know how to wire the gauge to the fuel gauge on the cluster and use a normal switch to change between gas and petrol
