There is no difference. The series 2 VN engine IS a VP engine.
i jus heard that there is 2 plugs different thats all, one near the fusebox and one nearthe computer is this true??
Aren't the coolant censors and a few other things in different places on the VN to VP motors?

The 1990 engine was introduced in production on 21 July 1989 E/N VH1065705 from car L360544. Effectively this becam the VP engine.

When i did my motor in i replaced it with a 1990 model motor and loom and i hate a 1989s1 vn and the 1990 loom was different to the 1989 becuase of the 2 plugs its only 1 wire as far as i know for the altenator, 89 S1, 90 S1.5, 91 S2, the S2 motor is the VP S1 so it all should bolt straight up. The 1.5 models are tricky stupid things came out with the surge tank and an over flow on the other side :P

S2 VN = VP, same thing
What year and what month is your car, EVL? There were quite a number of changes made to the S1 engine throughout the series, from June '89 up to November '90.
edit: wow, way to misread a question...![]()
