Default Water ****ing out of engine

Hey guys im new to the site, i just brought a manual vn s pac on sunday and the engine has a pretty bad flow of water from the front drivers side of the engine. It seems to be coming from around the extractor closest to the front of the car but its hard to see where its coming exactly
thanks for any help guys much appreciated

Maybe you have a hole in the water jacket... You really need to be specific about where its coming from... Right hand extractor front is most likely to be a leak or crack in the front radiator hose rear the CAS... It might not be though!

I cant see exactly where its coming from. I removed the steel pipe that goes to the back of the engine from the radiator but really cant see exactly where its coming from, hopefully tonight i will be able to remove everything else in the way and the power steering pump and have a better look.
    thanks again

Might possibly be the inlet manifold gasket, leaky hoses could be a number of things.

Cover the stuff in degreaser, wash it all off, blowdry and wipe it so it's all bone dry and clean, then get in there with a BRIGHT floodlight and turn the car on. Watch to see where the fluids come from.

You'll have to find out exactly what the water is coming out of before we can help

doubt it will be a manifold gasket as the physics of it dont add up... The water will flow into the engine rather than out of it.. It might be but its very unlikely.

Ill put my money on hoses or wlsh plugs.

No tips on how to replace cause I've never done one but you are lucky it is easy to get at. Looks like it's been leaking for some time, very rusty. A good reason to use coolant at the correct ratio.
    Ok, just checked my Gregory's.
Using a punch and hammer, tap the welch plug on it's outer circumference into the opening
Grasp the edge of the welch plug with multigrips and lever it out.
    Thoroughly clean he opening.
Lightly smear the opening and the edge of the welch plug with a suitable joining compound , such as (Permatex No 2)
Place the new welch plug onto the opening and using a large socket that fits inside the rim of the plug, tap it squarely into the opening.

might be an 1 1/2 inch plug if memory is right just measure the hole inside to inside then head to repco or supacreep to bet one for about $6

If you had to replace two welsh plugs, the chances are that the rest are about to go on you. My VN needed every bloody plug replaced because VN's only had mild steel plugs but from VP on, they were stainless steel from the factory. If the coolant was not maintained properly, the VN plugs rust like blazes. There are three on each side of the block, and the rear one on the driver's side is a proper mongrel to replace in the car becasue the steering shaft prevents you from getting a clean straight hit on the new plug to drive it fully home.

Then, to cap it off, there are two more plugs are the rear of the block, in front of the flywheel. To replace them, the trans and flywheel need to be removed. And they rust just as badly as the others. I replaced the side ones, then had the rear ones cark it. Flogged the car- I'd had enough of the VN's miserable brakes and handling by then and couldn't be bothered with the effort involved to replace two crappy little welsh plugs.

yea i know, it was only one that needed to be replaced but i thought i better replace the other while i was at it so i did, i know the bottom ones are hard im just hoping they hold out, i just brought the car and it had been sitting for 8 months with straight water and didnt tell me about it, but yeah i hope it holds out because i cant afford to change the others yet
