You can use the computer, but will need the security function turned off in it.

Like everyone else has said, use the computer but you will need a manual memcal otherwise the 4l60e settings on the eeprom will throw an error when it detects its missing... you will also have to modify the loom for the knock sensor.

Did you know that the 185 hsv motor's are identical to the vn 165kw 5 litre other than memcal, knock sensor, airbox and minor exhaust modifications? unless your existing motor is stuffed (or the senator motor is a 215i) i would just swap over the t5.

i dont have a 5 litre for it thats y im putting this motor in and plus its worked, the loom will be modifide anyway as its being hidden in the bay by stef (STOWLN). so what im using is the motor and box, loom and computer unless other wise, i do have a VN 5L Enginer loom here so either way im not fussed.

as long as the motor starts and runs really lol
