Exclamation Both my tail lights and brake lights have stopped working.

HELP!! Both my tail and brake lights have stopped working but my spoiler light is working when i brake. I have checked the fuses and changed the fuse for the brake lights and swaped relays. Also I have checked the earth is connected properly and checked that the wiring harness's are connected properly. On the weekend I went over a sign lying on the road and a peice of wood got stuck under my middle center of the car and I had to yank it out to remove it. Can someone help me with this? Could the wood getting lodged under my car have any relation to the problem, because the lights stopped working around the time of the incident with the sign on the road.

Don't mean to seem like Mr. Captain Obvious

..but you didnt mention anything about changing the bulbs

    have you checked?

..'cause the the filament might have broke from the shock while you stomped on the brakes going over that sign

Yes sorry i have changed the bulbs and also in addition to what i wrote the reversing lights all work. I casually ran over that sign cos it was to late it was only a few stakes laid out flat. But as I wrote one got lodged in under my car.

if you've got water in your boot recently there could be buildup of scrunk on the terminals of the bulb holders, tried white spirits or something on them?

If it was just the brake lights, i'd say its the switch on the pedal.

Being all lights, i guess its electrical. Try a new set of looms, and see if it works, and sounding obvious, check the fuse
