vp was going good using a bit too much fuel but otherwise happy, good oil, good collant, one big bang (luckily on my road) drove home felt like massive exhaust leak on # 3 pulled of exhaust mannifold and saw part of the head gasket poking out from under the head on # 3 pulled off head and apart from that part of the gasket being blown out everything looks ok ie piston looks right when i rotate engine head nice and flat when checked with a straight edge. do i just do the heads assuming it was just that gaskets time to go or can anyone think of what else could be wrong to cause this.
Being that it is a very, very uncommon occurance for a V6 Holden to blow a head gasket, i would just run a straight edge over the head and block surfaces (as it sounds like you have done) and bang it back together. However, while you have it apart do both just for a bit of extra insurance!
yeah it was weired i have fixed heads on heaps of cars and never seen anything like it
