    Hey all,

My old ladys VP is playing up.............it wouldnt start but there would be power to the dash and every thing else, she thought it was the Batt, so she went and brought a new one........... but still same thing is happeing, and im trying to find out what it could be?

This is what my mum told me what its doing........ my car has had a new battery put in it but this mornin it just died on it ass but i had lights and all, but would not go till i turned it all off and then it was fine but it still plays up when i put key in the ignition and it sets off the aalrm

Could it be the Computer with a fault?
    A loose earth?
    Starter on its way out?
    Immobiliser?

    or something else? plz help

also would a VN Auto calais Computer work in a VP Auto Exec??

    ecu between vn-vp is interchangeable.

Does the starter click when turning the key?. try bashing it with a pipe, seems to get them going until a replacement is on the way.

aftermarket alarm?? if its being set off, theres a voltage drop in the system. its most likely your alternator brush's/voltage regulator.

you may of had lights on the dash but they would of been dim?

if thats not the problem, i have another list of things for you to check out. if it's not a calais/statesman/ etc chances are its aftermarket.
