I'd say there not factory lights.

I know VN Berlina's etc had darker lights, but Calais ones (and my SS ones) look the same as Exec ones.

Never seen any like that. Got a pic on the car to see how different they are?

You can tint the garnish. Just go to a panel beater and ask them to make up some for you. I think they use 9 parts clear 1 part black to get the tine, a light coat of that should do the trick

Yeh some models has smoked lights and other didnt. The Calais had smoke lights cause I got some from SSS Autos in Perth and just ordered the standard commodore ones (as no-one makes the Calais ones with the chrome strips anymore although the lines are there) and they werent smoke. The Calais rear garnish is darker than the executives. I dont know about other models.

There was a difference in rear lights etc on different models.
I am just unsure which models had which type of taillight.

If you cant return them try RIT Fabric Dye. It's a fabric dye you can buy at supermarkets. It may take a lot of messing around ot get the colours right tho.
I use RIT to dye rims and other plastic parts on my 1/8 nitro RC buggies and trucks.
    Works a treat.
Just may take some messing to get it all looking good.

I had the same problem, couldn't get Calais lights.

This is a set of exec lights/garnish and a few hours prep time
