I think i have a blown manifold gasket, had a big over heat on Friday and needed to tow the car home,on inspection the inlet side of the radiator was nearly totally blocked, and the amount of orangey sticky sludge that came out was incredible when the car over heated, its like the radiator was throwing up this gunk like a volcano. Put in another radiator and with some rad cleaner and im trying to clean this crap out.
I always thought oil and water make white sludge but the motor dipstick and oil cap are clean as a whistle. Upon closer inspection i think the intake gasket has gone boom right next to the rocker cover in the centre where part of of the outline of the gasket is missing.
So if this is correct im losing oil into the water hence creating the thick sludge? Since i put the other radiator in its running cool as while im running just water and rad cleaner. Done the normal engine flushes but still heaps of gunk stuck in the pipes etc .
The rad cleaner is meant to be in the system for 200ks and then dump it and so far it has thinned out the gunk to water like state or murky orange water. So is it best to change the intake manifold gasket or do you think i have another problem thats causing the sludge?
Not sure what to do 1st wether to clean as much as i can out and then see if it comes back or not,coz to me if oil is getting into the water wouldnt water get into the engine oil due to the fact the water is under alot more pressure?
The car run and still idles as normal.
