Hey peeps. Long story short, I have 2 injector pintle caps lost down the injector hole, will a) the valve move enough to let it drop into the chamber if i rotate the engine and b)do you think I have a change of sucking it out with a vacume cleaner? Ive tried this already but it cant suck hard enough because its sucking air from the plenum. I will have to take the manifold of again wont I....
ohh ****. looks like manifold removal time......again![]()

Hmmm, thinking, should I cancel the drags AGAIN and buy a replacemnt cam, do head gaskets, valves and springs? I was thinking of getting a new manifold, but its just to expensive. How much are a replacement cam and the rest of the gear?
get a skinny set of long nose pliers down there or even a coat hanger bent in half, if not get some new ones and just start the car up and burn the sucker.
hmm, wouldve thought the vacuum cleaner might blow dirt in there or something. maybe best not to risk it

The hole is too small and the cap is too large, id rather not let it melt ot get into my chamber. Long nose pliers will not get in there at all.
pencil with a piece of double sided tape on the flat tip. Stick it down the whole and pull the cap back out![]()
youll need to grasp it somehow to get it out of the hole, otherwise taking the manifold off is your only option...which it would be pretty hectic to remove the manfold just to get some little pintle caps out, chances are its already in the chamber, depends which valve is open/closed....
I still say burn it, you wont break or ruin anything.
Is it made of plastic or metal?
Reaper
Its plastic and I had a peice of wire down in there and felt one moving around so atleat one is not in the chamber. Its kinda big pintle cap, i would say roughly 10mm high, ill get a picture of them when I get home.
you would have to be unlucky for them to go into the chamber i had two fall off when i first put my blower on but i had to get them out with o ring pic its just like fishing you have to have to be lucky and that was after we took the blower off
Any chance of hooking it with the wire if you put a barb on the end of it?

Selling FG G6E Turbo and buying a N/A Supra
burn the mother.
they are made of plastic reaper, if he was to start it up it would rattle to the chamber and jump up and down until its burnt, or through the exhaust where it would probably get caught again...
Mack its not going to hurt you valves, bore or piston... just start it, unless your lookigng for an excuse to do the cam? The most its going to do is get caught between the port and valve and get chopped in half!
Im not willing to test how strong the plastic is man, bent valve would give me the real ****s.
I tend to agree with vnv8driver, just start it up and let it get burnt.....It's plastic man, even if worst case scenario it gets stuck between the valve and head, it will get broken by the valve pushing on it.
Also, a Holden V8 has enough room between the valve & piston to "free wheel" so even if the pintle jams the valve open it wont bend a valve....
vacuum cleaner and clear hose to poke down the hole mategive that a go cos ive done the same thing at work and the vac actually worked lol

definately, if you bend a valve or pushrod becasue of some cheap plastic theres something wrong lol.
