    Default fuel useage

how long do u think the v6 should run, running off a jerrycan? my v6gem drank the whole jerry can in a matter of minutes. it hasnt got the o2 sensor connected yet, but i dont think that should matter too much. only other guess i can think of is the aftermarket fuel pump might be pumpin too much pressure in.

could that be a problem or should the stocko fuel regulator fix that?

    cheers,

if it drank that much fuel in a few minutes (idling or driving?) i'd imagine it was blowing some serious black smoke out the back.

i'd be looking at the pressure regulator or maybe a blocked return line (also causing excessive pressure) or a fuel leak worste case scenario.

i drove a VN V6 home on 5ltrs (5km's), it idled for another 10 mins, did a long burnout, new tyre to zero tread (on private driveway......mine ) then idled it to let it cool down and it still didn't run out of fuel.

My VN V6 drinks the fuel to, fuel pump is aftermarket to, but when i was under to car looking around the other day i seen that 1 of the lines has a crimp in it prob only letting thro 60% so i will chase it back and see what it is,prob get like 14-15L or something like that to 100klm but yeah also might be my driving i dunno lol

yeh its only idling. (no tailshaft or exhaust yet, left manifold not bolted on yet). i can smell petrol from like 40m away from the car. dont see any leaks. will check the return line and fuel lines under car.

can i install a aftermarket regulator and leave the old one where it is?

smells like a fuel leak to me. check around the injectors, a faulty 'o' ring could do it.

if your going to run a aftermarket regulator you would want to get rid of the factory one
