what they are in the box is normally correct.
Some plugs that require larger gaps are marked in the books with a number after the regular number. The number tells you what size they need to be.
sorry guys that was my dad he was trying to search for the plug gap he doesnt kno much about forums and must have clicked the wrong thing!
cheers for the replies tho, i ended up getting bocsh platnium plus plugs to suit the vn v6 which were gapped at 1.5 mm
all buick V6 engines should be gapped 1.5mm (except for gas) i had fitted new plugs as per the suppliers listing of 1.3mm and instanly lost fuel economy. re-gapped to 1.5mm and fuel economy came back. intererstingly the old plugs that came out were nearer to 1.6mm and were still going strong.
ecotecs however don't seem to like going over the 1.5mm gap. (higher CR)
i agree, you should always double check the plug gaps before putting new plugs in

theres a whole lot of new plug ranges out these days, i have a set of irridiums for a v6 that is gapped to 1.3mm....
same as i got a new set for the v8 the other week, normally it is a .9mm gap, now bosch's range for the v8 is 1.1mm standard...
Im prety sure its 1.1mm for the Holden V8.
got my manual out the vn to double check as i was sure that was right....
turns out were both wrong, its exactly, 0.95-1.05mm (v8) and 1.4-1.5mm (v6)
like i said though i went to supercheap a few weeks ago and found the ranges have changed, the plugs i got for my v8 were 50 bucks (midrange) and is 1.1mm gap, when the 90 dollar v8 plugs were 14.-1.5mm...
