    Default Steering wheels

Hi, can anybody tell me if vp vr vs etc steering wheels are interchangable? I have just put (I thought) a VP column into my VP wagon but, the original steering wheel doesn't fit. It doesn't go on far enough for the horn ring to mate up with the sprung contact so I have no horn. Has any one else had this problem? Thanks.

Ok vr/vs wheels are different. I I cant rember exactly but i heard something similar to your problem with interchanging wheels. It may be that you have a vr/vs column instead of a vp. Where'd did you get it from? might be worth trying a vr wheel on there.

I thought VR/VS column was adjustable height so assumed it was VP.Came out of smashed VP wagon that had split rear seat and dicky seat fitted. The rest looked standard. Will try to get hold of VR wheel to try.

hey stockhorse... i had a vr steering wheel [from my brothers vr] and it fitted with no problems, it held on the vp column as the vp wheel would...

the problem u have is that u bought urslef a vr steering column not a vp...
the vp had a solid rear seat [wagon and sedan], whereas the vr had the split rear seat [wagon]..

so u need to have a vr/vs [non vs airbag wheel]for it to fit properly..

does that help u out a fair bit..

I've got the airbag looking wheel on my VN and apart from the small gap between the wheel and the column cover but fitted fine and indicators still cancel so all good
If ignorance is bliss why aren't there more happy people around ?

i had a VR steering wheel on my VP. there is a gap between the plastic around the column and the wheel, but horn, indicator cancel all worked fine.

is it possible to put an adjustable (height and reach) VR/VS steering column on a VN/VP?
