On the weekend i will be replacing my ps pump with a reconditioned one and i need some advice.
How tight do i do up the high pressure hose,i do not want to damage the o'ring,and how much ps fluid do i flush through the system,1-2 litres?.

I usually go to "that'll hold" or "FT"...

BUT just for you I got the Generals specs

V6
Pump to Mounting Bracket : 40-54Nm
Pulley Retaining Bolt: 10-20Nm
Fluid Outlet Fitting: 50-102Nm
Fluid Outlet Tube Fitting: 40-54Nm
Reservoir Screw: 1.0-2.5Nm

V8
Pump to Mounting Bracket: 20-28Nm
Fluid Outlet Fitting: 50-102Nm
Fluid Outlet Tube Fitting: 40-54Nm
Reservoir Screw: 35-80Nm

There's a "650ml" spec on fluid capacity... a litre should do it, depends on your preferences...
Just remember to start it and run lock-to-lock a few times throughout the flush...
