Default VP V6 Dumping Trans Oil

    Hi,
I have a VP V6 that is loosing trans oil. It looks like its coming from the front of the pan. I have put a new pan gasket on but still no good.
Sometimes it will dump about a half a cupfull of oil in one go after i have been driving for a while and then stopped the car. Also it can leave a trail of oil on the road when i drive off.
Weird thing is tho most of the time it will just leak a little bit now and again but then looses a heap in one go.
Could it be the trans drive shaft seal? Myabe i overtightened the pan bolts?
    Thanks

Give it all a big degrease and dry, then see exactly where it's coming from. That's the first step

u might have hit the nail there bro, lol.
u only need to tighten the bolts up tight, then a little bit more...
dont do them up so tight like a uni-joint, only enuff that if u need to get it off in a hurry, it will easily undo....

degrease the box and pan, then check where it is leakin.. easy as that bro.
    hope that helps
    cheers

Its most likely your torque converter seal. I just replaced mine on my VN Berlina. Also used to dump ATF everywhere. You'll find that it will leak more when you put it in gear because of the increase in pressure within the transmission. Doubt its the oil pan gasket. I did the same thing on my VN but it didnt fix the problem. A way to check is to remove the inspection cover from the front of the transmission. Mind you this means having to remove a section of the exhaust. If you find that it is the seal you will have to remove the transmission to change it. A Gregory's manual would help alot
