Check to see what trouble codes are stored.
is that by bridgin the white n black wire??? i got code 12 which is all good if thats what u mean??
if you have a shift kit it can cause your engine light to flick on and off. The trans pressure is higher so it trips out the ecu.
only good cops a dead cop...

Intercooler ---3"exhaust
stage 2 shift kit---B&M Qicksilver shifter

18" Cv8z Monaro rims 245's
or under heavy breaking the engine light can sometimes come on
my guess is either a faulty oil pressure switch or o2 sensor. but you should of gotten a code logged if the light came on. did you reset the battery then test it?
hey, i had this problem happen to me some time ago. i was told that the light comes on everynow and then if it is due for a service. i never let anyone else service my car, as it is a waste of money and i can do it myself.
so i took it to a friend of mine who is an autoelectrician, and he tuned it off for me. not 100% sure wat he did tho. but as far as i know it has to be turned off by someone with the correct tool.
hope this can eb of some help.
I have the same problem on a 92 vp, id like to know the fix allso, It runs ok, drives ok etc. When your accelerating its ok, if you just coasting with a bit of throttle its ok, its only when you take your foot of the go peddal it comes on, or if your just sitting there idleing.
I haven't read a thread with more untrue rumours in it in yearsall you guys need to go back to engine light school asap
my engine light comes on when its time to take a break.
I had my 92 VP serviced by Lube Mobile once (and only once!) before setting off on a long trip... engine light kept coming on, turns out that a few of the sensor connectors weren't plugged back in properly.... it would be worth checking all your O2, oil pressure, knock sensors, etc. to make sure the connections are OK and wires are not worn or damaged, any splits in the wire insulation could expose the wires and cause this sort of error.
