SV91 HSV Commodore #014...$15490
Introduction
New Berlina-based model featuring an all new body styling package is released. Vehicles are only available in a Euro Blue body colour with the interior finished in Steel Blue.
Exterior
A new HSV styling package is used for the first time and includes front and rear bumper assemblies, open grille, side skirts, front wheel arch mouldings and rear deck spoiler with LED stop lamp. The bumpers are manufactured from a light urethane using the reaction injection mould (RIM) process. This produces a lighter, stronger and more flexible product. The spoiler is manufactured from a self-skinning urethane process, the wheel arch moulds are injection-moulded and the side skirts are vacuum formed. New for the 185kW packages is the single outlet, oval-shaped exhaust taken from the 5000i model. Body colour is Euro Blue, side protection moulds are deleted and external mirrors and HSV additions are body-coloured. The boot lid has an SV91 decal fitted and a chrome HSV corporte badge on the passenger side. The HSV 8 engine designation is fitted to the rear of each front guard. The bonnet has the usual helmet and lion badge centrally mounted at the front.
Interior
Devenish sports seats are based on those from the VN Group A and are trimmed in the Hervey style. Seat flanks are finished in leather with blue velour inset panels. The HSV corporate logo is embroidered on the backrest of each of the front seats. Statesman rear seat is used including head rests and armrest. The four spoke leather bound Momo steering wheel is also taken from the VN Group A and features a new centre logo. Gear knob is leather bound for models with manual transmission. A sports instrument cluster with trip computer and HSV insignia is fitted. Standard features include air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, central door locking, electronic security system and alarm and, on automatic models, cruise control. Options: "Devenish" sports seats with "Flinders" full leather trim, suede or leather centre console, sunroof, car phone, premium sound system with or without CD player and HSV Silver Service.
Mechanical
The SV91 i available with manual and automatic transmissions and the HSV 180kW engine with the usual HSV modifications: free-flow air cleaner and exhaust, recalibrated engine control module and knock sensor, recalibrated Turbo-Hydramatic 700 four speed automatic transmission. Independent rear suspension is utilised, along with a limited slip differential fitted as standard. Suspension has HSV modifications and includes progressive rate springs, revised anti-roll bars and gas dampers. Alloy wheels are a new style with five radial spokes, designated 'P' type and have similar rim dimensions to VN Group A wheels. Bonnet and boot gas struts are fitted.
