what is the best engine oil for my vp v6
This has been covered many times before and there's a lot of different opinions on it. IMO it depends on a number of factors including the condition of engine and how many k's its done. I think something of around 20/40 should be used and only mineral based oil. Basically buy the best oil you can afford read the bottle to make sure its suited to your purpose/engine
i think there needs to be a sticky on the different types of oil as this is such a popular question?
as for oil depends on how many k's the car has don....the climate and age of car etc
for me id go with at least a 20w50or60 for a car thats done over 300 000 but for one thats done under 100 000 id be sticking to a 15w40 or similar...as for brands its up to you..but i wouldnt be putting home brand in though haha
well my car has done 106 000 ks
Theres about a thousand recent threads on this same question hehe. 20W40 oils pretty hard to find these days except for motorcylce oils. 10/15/20/25W 50 more common. the different between a 15W40 and 20W40 is negligable therefore oil makers dont produce them.
i use penrite 20/50 works good for me
