    Default VN door pods

Were there ANY VN/VP models that had speakers in the doors?? I only want to use VR/VS pods as a last resort as from the few I've seen they tend to peel back to their original colour over time and look terrible. I'm trying to keep the neat factory look for my VN interior and don't want it ruined by peeling 2 colour door pods, but at the same time cannot stand my 4" dashboard speakers any more.

Anyone have any ideas? If I got a trimmer to dye the pods VP blue would they stay that way??

I'm not aware of any factory VN/P door pods.

The only ones i've seen were on a HSV, said to be stock, but looked ****in ugly (so i assumed the owner just 'thought' they were stock)

    Preparation is everything.

See if you can pic out whats been vinyl dyed on my interior
*Note the date on the 2nd pic, both 'parts' were sprayed at the same time, BEFORE that date, and they are still perfect*

Now i just need to find out why the bottom half of my console is the wrong colour, and get a proper tan one.

OK fair enough as long as it's done properly it should last, hey?

Can I have your interior if anything bad happens to your car??

The lower part that doesn't match the tan looks to me like a brown bit that's been sun faded. My original brown dash panel went that pink colour after years of sunlight.

Also that's the other thing with the door pods that you've just reminded me of.. they're butt ugly. Still, if there's no better way, maybe I should just resign myself to the idea.

Yes, I agree VR/VS door pods are butt ugly and i cant stand them. I made myself some fibreglass door pods and covered the little door insert thing to match, or you can pick up those pre-made ones from autobahn or whatever. I think the stock look is better than all these highlighted things a lot of people do, but each to their own i guess..

ah ok. cause i have them on my doors. when i had a calais seat there, you could see the imprint left on the seat when i opened the door, and now that i have stato seats with the leather/vinyl bottom half, i can hear it squeek when sitting on the back seat

Not meaning to offend at all, but I don't like the look of either of those 2 posted ones purely because it's blindingly obvious the factory didn't put them there.

Anyone got more information on the statesman theory?

I have vs statesman door trims. and caprice seats.

and i can confirm when they are in a short wheel base car. the rear map pockets touch the base of the back seat.

Thanks for the pic andy but nope, don't like it
Doesn't fit the lines of the trim and too rounded for VN shape.

See? See why I have a problem finding speaker pods? This is how damned fussy I am

yeah I have 4" alpines too, but they are terrible! Not enough fill in the rest of the system. I want 6.5" splits!!! And 6.5" coaxials in the back. And 2 12" subs.

That's the best looking setup I've seen so far, my current plan is to fit those but have them dyed to match the dark colour of the surrounding trim. That peeling I was talking about was probably where someone had painted the trim a different colour, either way parts had flaked off so it was this blotchy 2-colour mess in some places

haha yeah ok. I hate exposed 6x9s lol I'm way too fussy. I just spent an entire day getting rid of my 6x9s and putting in some 6" alpines in the factory VP location under a nice VP Calais Parcel shelf complete with speaker grilles
