VN Speedo 'droping out'

hey, after about 75km/h the speedo will drop back to zero for half a second ro so, then back to the right speed (reads accurate), then just keeps doing this at any speed above about 75. im wondering if its an instrument panel fault, or the actual speedo pickup on the gearbox, i just need to know which on to order from the wreckers lol. or maybe theres a way to fix it.

i dont want to be a pain in the ass, but any help is good help. im just wondering whether it is the speedometer itself, or the sender unit on the gearbox. or whether this si a common easily fixable fault. i need this working by the weekend so the cruise control will work for a trip (cruise cuts out when speedo drops out)

common thing is the sensor on the gear box, that would be the most likely cause. however in some cases it is also the speedo itself but i doubt. Try a different sensor and see what happens
