    Default homemade killswitch/immobiliser question.

so i'm thinking about wiring in a simple hidden switch to the fuel pump relay/fuse, running it as well as the stock immobilizer, but i got a couple of questions for people who've done this, or are knowlegable about electronics.

i know that a 2 pole missile switch is possible and easy solution but i was thinking a small push button style momentary switch would be heaps smaller and easier to hide.

is there any way i can use one of these with any other hardware so that pressing it makes the circuit, which will die after ignition is turned off?

i'm can solder and do wiring, but just don't know stacks about how to do somethign like this.

    Yeah easy as....

You can get these tiny little ones (red tops) VERY easy to hide.

all you have to do is find your Brown ignition wire at the barrel and trace it back a fair bit. Cut it there, attach those to ends to a relay (30+87) and then attach an earth and then a postivie 12v source (85,86....not in that order...cant rember, look it up)

Wire the red temp switch to the 12v+ wire leading to the relay...

What happens is when you try to ignite the car, it wont work cos the ignition wire (which is only 12v+ when trying to ignite) is "cut". Push the red button and it completes the positive rail to the relay and relay will activate closing the ignition wire and hence you being able to start it!

    simple and awesome!

You can also cut the power to the efi relay not as common as a fuel pump cut out but will stop them the same most alarms with immobiliser cut out the fuel pump efi and starter why not go all out and do all three lol i found a cutout hooked up to a dome light switch in a vp that was connected to the efi relay wich ****ed me off because i bumped it and didnt know it was there

so i could go to jaycar and get a relay and one of the buttons, is there a specific relay i'm looking for?
will this mean the button will need to be pushed while the key is being turned?

You want an on off switch not a momentary and a standard 4 pin 12 volt relay if you look at the relay it has 4 pins two are used to switch wich have a negative and a positive feed and then when sitched they continue the circut your cutting through the other two pins

Have a look at this link Holden Vintage & Classic - 12v 30a Normally Open Mini Relay

you would connect positive from your ignition to pin 85 then run 86 to your two position switch and the other teminal on your switch to earth then 30 to one side of the fuel pump positive wire where you cut it and 87 to the other
