    Exclamation Heater not warming up

Ok, so as the title says since I have had my VP my heater has not heated up. It is lukewarm but will not get any hotter... We have replaced the switches as that's what we thought was broken and that did nothing...

There is hot water going through the pipes under the bonnet to the radiator and into the heater but once you get into the dash the heater pipes are still cold and do not warm up..
Could this be because of a blockage or heater core is stuffed?

Any help would be good as we are stumped and if we can figure out what needs to be done we can fix it ourselves or send it to the mechanics to fix it telling them what we think needs done.. As we want some idea...

yeh cody makes a good point. May be worth lookin at. I have a VP 5L... i had bad water leak yesterday an followed it back to the heater tap. It was buggered big time. It could either be that is not opening up, or there is a little vaccum hose that hooks up to the tap which opens up the valve when you turn the heater on. This could have easily come off, an would be a probable cause to your problem. Have a look at it, an for the sake of $20 it may be worth changin goodluck

you might be best to ask some1 else on that one bud, im only aware of where they are on the 5L... which it ontop of the manifold, tucked in kinda behind the throttle body an fuel rail. If no1 has helped you out in the next few days i can find out for you, but im sure someone on here has changed it over before an can tell you exactly where it is. Maybe look in your car manual ... or search on the net .... otherwise im not much good to ya, sorry

The heater tap is on the left had side of the motor ( drivers side ) depends which way your looking at it, down the bottom near the strut tower, you should have a hose comeing from the rear of the engine another from the front, and 2 leading into your firewall. Thats where mine is, i drive a 92 VP

if you're buying a new heater tap, just be aware there's 2 models of them, might have something to do with the engine series, but basically one has 3 or 4 'outs' on it with a valve in the middle, one has an out on each end and the valve.
autobarn tried to sell me one with 3 or 4 outs, and i needed the one with 2

hey, just curious have u taken out your aircon cluster. when i took mine off to put in a new stereo deck, i had to pull it out.
then once i put it back together it wouldnt get warm anymore.

there is a long metal bar/rod that connects to a plastic lever, try adjusting that.
this seemed to work for me.

    hope this helps.

Yes I have taken it out. That was one of the first things we thought it was, When it was disconnected it we tried moving the plastic lever manually and holding it where it should be for the heater and still didn't warm up... The pipes under the dash do not even get hot.
