i had a problem with this.

Tools i used: hammer, crow bar, pliers, BIGGER pliers, and finally got it undone with a big ass plumbing wrench thingo

buy a nice oil filter wrench with big teeth on it. (make sure it will fit round the filter)They usually squash the fiter a bit making a flat spot to grip on and then comes off easy

ahahha clockwise is way a clock turns and anti-clockwise is other way lol

standing on drivers side of car and looking at engine , turn the filter 0<------ that way to undo it.

I had problem like this when I took car to mechanic .. he would tighten the bloody thing up so tight it was not funny , in fact I believed he did this on purpose so I would have to take back to him to do.

To get the filter off I had to call a mate whos really good with cars to get off , even he said wtf that is crazy & used a big flat head to puncture filter and then lever it off.

I have not been back to mechanic and I do oil & all filters by myself now.
Vn executive 1990 200,000kms as of 13/6/08 , oil changes every 5000kms since it rolled out the factory , strut brace for hard cornering, kn pod filter, Ngk iridiums sports exhaust..what else can I say I love my holden
