VN V6 losing power after 3000rpm

hi guys, i drive a VN V6 5spd

take off in 1st, a little weaker than usual then as i reach 3000-3500rpm it goes really powerless, then shift to 2nd and same deal, best way to describe it is, if you have gas, when your running low on gas and you put the foot down, it does nothin, i'm experiencing that but my car isn't on gas

the only thing i can add is that my fuel pump sounds really tired, could this be the problem?

any ideas would help, thanks guys

Yes fuel pump, Or your crank angle sensor is on its way out, A Old m8 i dont talk to any more had the same prob on a VN, was his CAS. Shortly after he also replaced the coil pack, My money is on one of those 3 things, start with the cheapest.

i changed my oxygen sensor as i tripped the computer and got code 13, but that didnt help any, although i'm getting code 12 now (system clear)

will start with coil pack as i already have some :-D

If it's not breaking down and missing at all but simply running out of power. Then, fuel system for sure and since you say the fuel pump sounds wonky...... well you allready know what it is

my car did the same 4 years ,i thought that was how vn's went untill the coil packed it in, and now it reves clean, if the coil has gue coming out of it ,it is dead
