Hey guys, i'm abit confused i have a VN S1 motor in the garage that did a big end and it has double valve springs, now all the other VN motors that i have seen dont have them they just have one spring, the double valve springs are about 2-3mm wider to and they are on a stock motor.
I called up Holden and they said its one of the first motors and they come with an extra dampener and that the next valve springs are better. i have a VN S1 sc-14 setup and wanted to go 10psi could these valve springs handle it over the normal ones? if so i was going to pull the heads off and get them ported maybe polished and put them onto my car with the double valve springs good idea or nah? or should i go out and buy double valve springs and put them on the heads how hard is it to change them over? and special tools and also how much do they range from
thanx.

Yeah they not doubles they just the dampeners on the inside. weve got tons of them lying around at work. I'd say its unlikely your going to need double just go with some heavy duties they come with new dampeners with them. Crow ones i get for about $35 a set. You can buy a tool that screw into rocker post to help change your springs, Stocky has one. You need to either fill the cylinder with compressed air or thread a heap of rope in like stocky did. They're mega easy to change with the right tools when the heads are off. Built my mates heads with new stuff all round a seats cut in about 1.5 hours

so is that $35 for both sides i might as well do the valve springs when i pull the motor and gearbox out saves me doing it later, i know some people that work at an enginering place so i will see if i can borrow the tools to do it, does anybody know off the top of there head how much a mild port to the heads is?
