sounds like your crank angle sensor is ****ed. You haft to remove the harmonic balancer to replace it, Next time it doesn this, splash some cold water on it and if it starts again thats ya prob ( its just behind your harmonic balancer so pour water there )

Ive had fuel pumps die on me within a week so its possible, i didnt read that he replaced it.. one things for sure its an electrical component overheating and shutting down intermittently.

the car dies cos the cas gets too hot and stops working, you pour the water on it to cool it back down so you can start the car again

i recomend that you do the fault code test on the car as it just saved me alot of hassels and eneded up finding out that my crank angle sensor is stuffed.

...hmmm sounds a bit like a fuel blockage could be causing this too, couldnt it (especailly the lack of power)? Maybe blocked in-line filter or the "sock" one on the fuel pickup inside the tank? The in-line one is cheap and easy to replace (its on the drivers side, near the back axle on the sedan). cheers. pete.

hmmm just reread the original post... scrap the bit about the in-line filter. might still be the sock but a bit doubtful....pete.

Whats the fuel regulator like - still working OK - I dont know how to test them - but you could try replacing it with a know good regulator.
