Gidday,
I've done the post searches and think that I'm across upgrading my VN V6 brakes. I've already fitted a 1" master cylinder and have found a set of good VP series 2 rotors and calipers to go with it.
The only thing I'm unsure of is with the hose connections when changing over calipers.
Do I need to use the VN hoses and bolt these directly onto the VP caliper?
I've read that the VP flexible hose has a different connection and won't mate to the VN rigid hose at the body mount.
Does the VN flexible hose bolt straight onto the VP caliper or does it need modifying?
Thanks, Mick
To Hemi01, i recently put v8 discs on my v6 vp ,i had no problems, just make sure you get the caliper brackets to suit the larger 289 mm rotors, easy to get from wreckers. i also fitted finned calipers from a vr commo, again no problems, my vp is a 92 series one. with the metal brake fittings i think they used different flared tube ends on the brake pipes that connect to the master cylinders on series 2 vp models would be october 92 and later. so i dont think you will have any dramas. good idea if you put new wheel bearings in the front rotors, about $50. hope this helps you.
