Having heard many rego checks, over the radio they usually don't say what the engine is.

Generally they will do a check on ABC123... comes back as a not reported (not stolen) 94 Holden Commodore blue in colour, registered to Mr Smith, expiry 1 Sep 2008.... or something like that.

If the copper asks, then yes they can pull up all sorts of details about the car... including any intel on it ;-)

its all done through a in car computer these days though so it would have every detail about the car on the screen inside the car.
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone

Not in NSW. Whilst most highway patrol vehicles now have in-car computers, GD's do not.

ask if greenfoam can do a detune chip, maybe that will help with getting approval to drive it.

bit off topic but might work for you, one of the guys i went to school with had a 4wd van thing, and his father put a bolt / nail behind accelerator so it wouldn't go down past a certain amount cause he was worried his son would speed.

    You could try that

It never says what litre it is? it will say what cylinder it is though

Make: Holden Type:Sedan Cyl: 4-6-8 depending

it says that on your rego forms in WA which im sure is directly linked to the coppers database which they can check every car you own. I guess on the upside if you own a turbo'd car that came stock from the factory they wont know that unless they already had the knowledge themselves im sure it doesnt say 'cylinder: t4 or turbo4'

if they suspect your car of having a turbo, they can confiscate it while they run checks on it.

It wont matter either way, as restrictions apply to new drivers 'when' they come in. He already has his license......

Why would you want to do that, a 5 litre is slow enough standard let alone being detuned....

thats sounds the safest way to go....or just buy another car for a daily and with the 5l off the road u can go nuts on it.
