Default expected power from 355 stroker

My dad has just has his VN SS 5ltr stripped down and rebuilt with a c.o.m.e racing 355 stroker and twin throttle body, also got new roller rockers and a new crane cam (not sure exactly what cam) and has just got his chip remapped by chiptorque, and redback extractors to high flow cat and 3" inch single exhaust.

now the engine is going in tomorrow but we are realy keen to see what sort of power its gonna have. has anyone else here got a similar setup or seen something like this?

the guys at come and the engine rebuilder who did most of the work have said it should be 350-450hp at the flywheel. the old stock 5ltr pulled 205hp at the wheels last time it was on the dyno and it was running pretty rough then so i would have thought the 355 would be able to achieve 300hp+ at the wheels.

anyway if anyone has any ideas of expected power let me know

How long is a piece of string?

Power is relative....torque is your friend.

depends on alot, headwork, cam choice compression lots of things to take into consideration

There's a wagon on here with a similar combo, makes about 250 rwkw I believe. I think you can expect anywhere between 230 and 250 with that manifold if there's limited or no head work, it will all depend on the dyno really

3 of the 4 vital ingrediants as to how much power is going to be made are all missing from your post.....

Cam, Compression ratio, manifold and headwork. Thats where power is made.....

I assumed he ment the come twin throttle, so no matter the cam (if it's streetable) it should be around those figures

Yeh, well i assumed the same.....However, cam, comp & headwork still play a vital role...Like, if it's running a 276 or something like that and the COME manifold it wont be real flash! You need atleast a 286 or similar and 10:1 comp to run with the COME manifold imo.

forgot to add the head work. excuse my limited tech savy talka s im not 100% sure on the exact details of things. but what i missed

heads have had about $1500 worth of work done to them, there was some port and polish ( i think thats what its called) and the come throttle body was match ported to the heads.

the cam i forget the exact model it was but the description was its a direct replacement for the VN group A cam, i expect that means its slightly more lift than the stock 5ltr cam?

Well ill guess we'll see soon enough, the engine goes in tomorrow as long as there is no more set backs, and there has been a few on this journey. the start of the build was just going to be the throttle body, then he decided well while im at it why not a stroker, then cam etc etc, the initial 2k budget has blown out to approx $9000 worth of work on the engine.

this project has been so many months in the making that everyone we know is excited about it and all wanna come over for the first fire of the new beast, we considered throwing a bbq to celebrate the event lol
