Eldest teenage son Mr. P2 holder.(Alias Mark Skaife)losses it last nite in the pouring rain & smashes into the gutter.I get a fone call with a weak, crying voice on the other end saying Dad.I've prangerd my car...!!R u alrite i ask.??yep is the reply "but the car's bashed up".The fone call every parent dreads..He limped it home so i could assess to damage.Turns out he bent the panhard rod bracket on the body in rite angles, moving the body off centre to the diff. After many hrs of banging, jacking & just as much swearing it was straight again.Turns out i did a real job on it & it looks grand now.Worse was to come thou as he's smashed 1 of his rims to buggery. So before he races out & buys 4 new fancy ones he's been eyeing off i wondered if we can replace the old 1.It's a ROH 15x7 from memory...Any ideas anybody??.He'll pay for it..Cheers...

check out ebay for the rims. Its good to hear your son is ok, and that he trusted you enough to give you the call.
Yep he trusts his old man cos his old man(me)spent 18mnths building his car 4 him from almost scratch.New Rebored V6 motor, new walkingshaw blue paint job & new suspension front & rear.I should be pi$$ed...he he..

lol mate get him a flash new chip, one that makes a whole buddy great 80kw of power andsee if he can loose it then.
Lucky he did no real damage that wrecked the car or hurt somebody. My daughter looped the VN sedan in the wet a few weeks ago. Went up the gutter backwards and only dented the rim a little. That has slowed her down I must say - Scared her a bit I think.
I had to take mine the wheel aligner people as not only was the panhard rod bracket bent, so was the front strut and tower. All fixed now (I purchased the car like it) The sil panel is still all caved in - new side skirts to go on soon.

watch the car over the next few months, we had a bloke come in to get some repairs done, we did exactly what you did and he ended up starting to tear the panhard mount out (body) and needed to be welded by a boiler maker.
oh dear a sill hit....i feel for you brother...u must be still in tears, but skirts will hide it up + they look tuff. That's wat i feared when he was bringing it home b4 seeing it as it was nite time.I was having visions of it being completely stoved in along the sill but in the daylight things didn't seem so bad. We're glad he was ok, the fright & bashing his car up was his lesson so that saved me from chewing him a new arsehole ova it from not driving to suit the wet conditions.Put it down to a lack of experience perhaps..

I back up the comment in regards to mount being compromised. As soon as you straighten one out it will flex backwards and forwards until it lets go. Last one i knew of lasted 3 weeks before coming free from body. Get it replaced or reinforced.
nothing wrong with importsaslong as they're fast

i have a big problem when people go LISTEN TO THAT IDLE, of a 4 cyc or 6 cyc... kiddies these days just dont hear enough of the proper v8's
intresting story tho, lucky to beable to fix it, i seen heaps of cars go off the scrap heap this way, did you slap him accross the ears and tell him no skids without a lsd? :P (i do that to my housemate everytime he tried to kill us by making his single pegger step out)
i did a similar thing a few years back... i learnt my lesson atleast you know he walked away from this one...
IMO stick him with some sticky 15" rims
My son will be getting a company car soon , can't wait . One less thing i will have to fix lol
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
its good to hear ur sons ok, but what speed was he doing to cause that much damage?
Yer dunno vr_owner, he said he was cornering.I've had it all up on stands to make sure he's not bent sumthing else i don't know about. The steering wheel now is at 10 to 4 now so the steering's had a a wack too.It wasn't like that b4 cos i did the front end up myself & the steering was perfect.Judging by the scrath marks in the tyres it goes along with the explanation of "i lost it Dad".The tyres are perfect, the steering & suspension's spot on, so i can only say carrying too much speed & not enuf skill..driver error..
