Knock in my V8

I have just change the starter motor in my 5ltr which I might add was running fine before hand. now after changing te starter motor There is a knock somewhere around the engine bay, on start up. am open to any suggestion.

did you fit the side mounting bolt, if you didnt,i know its a bitch, the starter may not be in exactly the right posistion and causing the knocking sound, last one i had i loosened the starter bolts of slightly while the engine was running and moved it a couple of mm either way until it shut up, dont forget to put stands under the car!!!

I should actually have said at idle. Went from standard GM starter to hi torq gear reduction. its like a slapping noise that gets faster when you rev the motor.

Father inlaw said he couldnt feel any vibrations through the starter motor
