    Default Vq issues

Hey all, My vq 5ltr is having issues, I start her up an the alternator isn't charging....

I replaced the regulator on the alternator still no luck, checked EVERYTHING else an still no luck, even bashed teh alternator with a hammer to see if it had loose windings to weld back together....

Does this mean i'm up for an alternator, It happened all of a sudden too...

    Cheers

I had some trouble with mine ended up being this little plastic clip near the battery that supplies the power (or signal) to the alternator cost about $5 to fix.

Hozy it's a ?????brown???? wire that's the signal wire that goes from the alternator to the battery, it'll be broken off. It's happened to me before and it wont charge without it

ok well, same issue i had before that led to burning alternator out!!

if i sit 4500-5000rpm i'll spin a belt clean off the crank/wpump/alt.. Doesnt matter if its new or old belt, did it before aswell with the v8 alternator...

    Cheers

is the alternator pulley aligned with the rest of the pulleys? also if its under alot of strain it will try and twist the alternator downwards which throws the belt.... i used to ahve alot of problems with my powersteering doing this at high revs......
