Found one of these for sale, was wondering how it differs to my 1991 HSV +Six?
Same engine or is one S1 and the other S2?
What kind of interior did they have? What kind of rims?
Theres no such thing as series 1 and series 2 in the VN range. Its just an adopted term for 'early' and 'late' VNs. VP was the first commodore model with this.
The SV3800 is basically a poverty pack, the only thing they get that others didn't, is the super rare dash clock. Not 100% sure on the kit, but i think its just SS side skirts and front lip, and gay boot spoiler.
I'd take a +6 anyday, but only a ruby red one![]()

Not sure what difference they have. Guy at work had one, and the seats look like exec seats to me.

The SV3800 was HSV's first performance car in the VN Commodore range. Based on a Berlina V6, the SV3800 was positioned by Holden as a luxury sedan with distinctive looks, appointments and performance.
The V6 had a recalibrated engine management computer, extractors and a free flow exhaust system. HSV fitted a limited slip diff, special springs, shocks and struts and an 85-litre petrol tank. On the outside, HSV fitted colour-coded wheels and a five-piece body kit with a front air dam, side skirts, a rear spoiler and a new grill. Special SV decals completed the look.
On the inside, the Berlinas were fitted with power windows, a unique steering wheel, sports instruments, a sound system with graphic equaliser, re-trimmed doors and sports seats in perforated leather and velour.
Between October 1998 and May 1990, when the model was discontinued, HSV built 491 SV3800's.

Hmmm... i wonder if i take out that dash clock and replace it with something more modern... like a grandfather clock... or a sundial...
I'd sell that rare dash clock on Ebay for a grand or mayby more and install a $2 watch (with cut plastic surround) from a servo. Couldn't look any worse.

I'll hold onto it for a little while longer. I've actually changed my mind about using it, so it wont be going in a car.
