    Default jerking/jolting under deceleration!!!!!

hey guys, was wondering if anyone can help me, ive jus bought a vg ute 5l 5 speed, and when iam going back down thru the gears slowing down when i take my foot of the accelerator and the clutch is out it the whole car starts to jolt pretty violently until i put my foot back on the clutch, more so when the revs are low and especially in 2nd gear. iam def thinking driveline, maybe loose diff internals or worn uni joints or bearing ect. has any one had this problem or does any one have an idea what it may be??? would be muchly appreciated

I have the same problem when slowing down and getting down to low revs it starts to jolt and carry on like you are describing so if some1 can shed some light on the subject it would be great.

My car just bumps around when idling through car parks ect.. Its to do with the driveline, see if theres any slack in your drive shaft gong to your diff maybe. But i think its fairly normal just adjust your driving habbits a bit and put the clutch in earlier when comming to a stop.

Haydz told me about this in his car, i drove it around the block with him in the pass seat. From what i saw and felt its just normal manual jolting wen u get to low in the rev's. Auto driver's that are just new to manual pick up on it as a problem but really its not.

But check the bolts holding the diff to the tailshaft, they could be lose causing vibration sometimes on acceleration and deceleration.

Yeah all manuals do this, however, some are a little more noticeable than others.
Could be excessive end float that could be causing this more to happen.

my vp v6 did this when coming to a stop on certain tunes I was running .just so happened that the surge matched up to the swinging o2 sensor voltage of closed loop may be something to consider .

Can't be clutch fork rattle? (never heard of that? unless you mean throwout bearing rattle against the clutch plate but you'd hear it when you touch the clutch pedal). It's your gearbox input shaft bearing, they can rattle as they get older when there is no load on them ie. when in neutral and clutch out. If it's really loud you need to replace it otherwise leave it.

Clutch fork rattle is a very common problem, its a easy fix just buy 2 rubber bits from holden next time you change the clutch easy as.

To replace the input shaft bearing i would leave it to the experts, but thats just me

If it's not just the clutch fork rattling in the bell housing (does it go away as soon as you touch the clutch pedal) then it's a gearbox bearing problem (you will have to push the clutch in to disengage the gearbox before it stops) and you have to know what your doing to overhaul this bad boy.

mine does the exact same thing. no noise with my foot on the cluch, but in neutral with my foot off the clutch the gearbox makes some serious noise. ive always know it was the gearbox but never done anything about it. had the car for 3 months now
