Hi,
I have a 4runner that ive just dropped a vp v6 into it, it uses the original Holden engine brackets then a conversion bracket to the original Toyota mounts then i made chassie mounts,
I also put a t700-r4 behind it too.
My question is..
If i wanted to upgrade to a V8 would the engine mounts be in a different place? or the same, if the same what v8 are the same, Ls1. etc...
Also is it possible to use a vs 4 speed auto behind the vp v6? im guessing the comp is wrong.
I want to use a auto that bolts to the vp block and others that is electrical gear selection as hardly any room for the shift bar.
thanks in advance
hey mate!
first up v8 uses completely diffrent mounts/kframe
use its possible to put a VS gearbox (4EL60 or something) behind the EV6 ("vn S2 motor" because no one can remember engine codes :P)
you need the VR ECU to control this, VS ecu is no good because its designed for a ecotech! but beware, the auto's come in 2 flavours, red plug and green plug... essentially they're the same,
id stick with the T700R4 imo, better box than the electronic one, just fit a corvette servo, and external transcooler
btw: v6 and v8 auto's/manuals are also diffrent, holden v8 uses the chev pattern and the buick EV6/LN4 uses the buick pattern! plus the input shafts are all diffrent and the tail shafters are too!
