hey all i had a flat battery thios week so i rechrged the batt now my batt light is staying on anyone know why would it be the alternator?????
1) Could be the tension on the drive belt (the auto tensioner could be faulty, so the drive belt slips) or
2) could be the voltage regualtor (black thing screwed to the back of the alternator (easy fix (<30min) and the reg is cheap to get ~$35 from Holden - dont buy a second hand one as it might be worse than yours....)) or
3) it could be that the alternator itself is screwed.
First of all, check the drive belt tension is enough to spin the alternator, then chack all relevant electrical connections are tight and clean.
Most auto elecs will do a free battery and alternator check for you.
