hey guys,
replacing my inlet manifold atm, now im sick of finding loose bolts on v6 inlet manifolds, or hearing about near on every v6s inlet manifolds leaking, so im after other peoples opinions on the issue here,
1) are they not torqued up egnough from factory?
2) are the bolts not long egnough?
3) should we be using some locking compound on their threads perhaps?.
what do people think? i am ordering a new set of bolts from holdens and am planing to torque it down as you would do a headgasket starting in the middle and working outwards, and was thinking of dabbing a bit of loctite on the bolts and checking how that goes. has anyone else ever had problems with this?
first ive heard of this happening from factory
Locite, A backyarders best friend.
Ive had bolts come loose from the front of sump just under the timing cover.
Had car since rolled out factory and no ones repaired anything there so....
other bolts that come loose have look at the boot where lock os that come loose on my car and nearly couldnt open the boot.
If I were you go over the whole car and check all bolts/nuts are tight.
Vn executive 1990 200,000kms as of 13/6/08 , oil changes every 5000kms since it rolled out the factory , strut brace for hard cornering, kn pod filter, Ngk iridiums sports exhaust..what else can I say I love my holden![]()
