not all series 2 vps have the badge on them.
My late 92 vp has the earlier metal bracket cas and the later style balancer.
Try to move the balancer when you fit it to chech for bearing play.
    Bearing play = sell asap

well i checked for bearing play first and that's fine and as far as the series 2 its a series 1 metal bracket and white sensor i didn't think that the sensor plug end fit for both and i didn't think the ecu was the same ?? just cant work it out i am just about to have a vp bonfire

when you got your cas were you asked for a engine number, there are 2 or 3 different air gaps on the sensors

if you use a late 93 year model VP sensor AND late 93 model balancer you wont have a problem cos they are a matched pair....then you will eliminate the chance of breaking it all together......

Hope u get it all sorted...might see about making it up to bainsdale and see ya do ya thing.

with the cas and balancer, can u have the same problem with the Series 1 VN? I'm looking at replacing the cas hoping it will smooth out some vibrations and a mates early Calais needs a cas as well...hate to run into the same problems u are having

I had to replace CAS & I supplied the part which was correct one and when mechanic put on he did not adjust it correctly and chewed it up as I turned over the engine...

    expensive lesson that one...

take your car to an auto electrician who knows what their doing and get them to do...

Apparently the CAS can be a ****ing pain to replace if you dont know what your doing.

cost me $140 to get another mechanic to do with 12 months warranty..
Vn executive 1990 200,000kms as of 13/6/08 , oil changes every 5000kms since it rolled out the factory , strut brace for hard cornering, kn pod filter, Ngk iridiums sports exhaust..what else can I say I love my holden

    Default found the problem

ok i found the issue it turns out my balancer has 1 of the disruptor teeth just out of whack it only is just enough to catch the sensor but until you look really hard you cant see the difference i spose my vp would ave to be different and destroy the sensor instead of it just being faulty so the lesson here is that if the cas gets destroyed and that's why you are replacing it take special notice of the teeth that they are all aligned PERFECTLY

arn't u suppose to use a feeler gauge (0.5mm I think) between each tooth and the sensor?
