VP Lexcen stall

Just yesterday I bought a 93 VP Lexcen Wagon, seemed all in good nick beside needing some power steering fluid, an oil change and the fuel gauge and temp gauge was sticky.
There was one light that remained on in my dash and that was the orange light just left of the steering wheel.
I was worried about it but it seemed to run pretty fine when I was driving it around, but as I was goin slow and steady, it stalled on me.

Could anyone give me some ideas on what the cause could be?

I've been told it could be my fuel pump on its way out as the car has a pretty rough idle sometimes when i'm sitting at the lights etc

could be the fuel pump, but the orange light on dash means its logged an error, its a check engine light, try checking the codes and see what it comes up with..
