Hi Everyone
my front passengers side tyre has gone bald on the outside, from the inside there is plenty of tread left but as you move towards the outside the tread starts to become less and less until its completely bald.
i know a wheel alignment is the usual remedy for this, i got one about 6 months ago and the guy said the TOE was out a little bit but besides that everything was fine.
the question i have is: would the TOE being out cause my tyre to look like it does? or could it be a warn bush or something in the suspension?
if so what would the likely cause be?
there is a split bush when the radius rod connects to the control arm (i think thats what its called) could this be the cause?
heres a pic of the warn bush
ill get some better ones in a minute.
im going to have to get a new tyre for my warrany of fitness so i dont want the same thing happening again (tyres cost like $270)
cheers
Jeeze mate that bush is totaly gone.
Best bet would be for new lower control arm to chassis bush
lower control arm to z bar bushes and z bar to chassis bushes.
Do the lot as if one has **** it's self then the rest would be not to good.
It would be a good time for adjustable strut tops to.
In short, your front end is shagged, you need new bushes and then a wheel alignment.
yes as aready said that would be teh cause of teh problem
AT holden those bushes (one thast stuffed) are about 10 bucks and the front one (big one) is about 20 bucks max. AS said id replace all of them while at it, would;d only cost around the 90 bucks from holden (maybe way less but im just giving a price to be on the saf side) you will feel a hell of allot beter drivening around knowing teh front end is all good and im sure your wheel alaighnment would be at its best (if replaced all bushes)
you would need a wheel alignment after replacing the bush and id say the car would feel allot better when braking
sweet cheers, i thought that would be the case![]()
I paid $141 for a nolathane front end bush kit...comes will all the bushes u need except the strut tops.
nolothane stiffer but may be to hard for the suspension or holden rubber soft and more comfy.
your choice but for a daily driver i like rubber for thrashing then the extra firmness of nolothane.
