With the way they fade over time I'd bet they are Acrylic.

Were have you been for the last forty years.
Eh was the first holden to have acrylic paint and they have lasted so well due to it being applied in the same fashion and thickness as the old enamel paints.

There was alot of cut backs for the vn's release and one of them was using the ****ty paint that is on just about every vn and vp, the paint fades because they used the water based paints and didnt seal it with a clear coat.

Look at a vn's roof ans see the water mark stains it would have.

Yeah VN's have acrylic paint. I think the VT series was the first holden to be released with 2 pack paint.

How is it a cut back when they used acrylic on the earlier models as well. It just didnt change. Its not like they went BACK to acrylic, its just what they were using.

VS had 2 pack paint and VR did as well I think. Not 100% sure on VR.

You painting yourself? What are you painting?

Most places will charge the same for acrylic or 2 pack (unless its like a full respray but the difference will be minimal anyway).

If you can get 2 pack for the same price you'd be silly not to use it imo.

Acrylic paint is softer than 2 pack, which makes it easier to scratch/damage.

See how much the difference in price is, it really should be minimal. Only my roof and rear quarters are acrylic now and you can't see the difference between acrylic and 2 pack.

i spray in my garage and only use simple heat lamps and a average mask otherwise i would use it, the amount of prep & cleanup work you save and the overall finish is well worth the extra cash .

I was quoted at autobarn $55 a liter for acrylic....at an auto paint shop I think it was $280 for 4 liters for 2pak. And thats without the undercoat.

So $220 for acrylic, $280 for 2pack? Shop around though and see what other places quote you.

Nevyn.... I paid 165 bux for 4 litres of Acrylic. Try Sav at Pakeham paints, excellent bloke and always willing to give advice, even at 11 at night he helped us out.

Were doing my brothers at the moment, we work slow but its coming up pretty nice for our first go at painting. Acrylic is easier and safer to spray, and easier to fix up if you make a mistake. Though 2pac is the better paint.
Is this the blue car I seen? I would just hit it with Acrylic, its cheaper, it will good for years.
Also the proper mask for 2pac is about 140+ bux, though make sure you still use a good mask when spraying Acrylic.
