hi guy im about to do a conversion auto to manual on a serries one vn but it has a vp enginge but ehn i went to have a look at firewall there is no spot for cabble not even a tube is this a bolt on section or is it a weld up job any help would be great thankyou![]()
You should have a hole in the firewall. Probably plugged by a grommet. The tube section is part of the manual pedalbox.
When you remove the automatic pedal box from inside the car, rip away the sound deadening along the firewall behind where it sat. There should be an obvious hole in the firewall covered by a rubber grommet. Push the grommet out, then go to the engine bay side of the firewall and look to the right of the brake booster. Should be a nice little hole right there
Then, when you throw in the manual pedal box, the steel tube below the clutch pedal should slide nicely through your newfound clutch hole, allowing for the clutch cable to be run through nicely.

It should be right there near the booster. a hole for the cable to go through and 2 mount holes for the pedal box either side of it. Its almost identical to the booster hole. Hold on i think i got a pic here somwhere, easier to explain.
Check that pic out
i found the hole in cab but no grommit on other side
my old vn never had this hole..i know this cause i went looking for it once and it was just metal...the wreck i have does have this hole and all other vn's i have looked at have this hole/grommet lol
