Default Fuel pump dead, need help with lpg...

OK, I know this club doesn't know much about or really like LPG but i thought its worth a shot because i need to get my car home, so here is the story.....

My fuel pump died on me and it decides to do it when i get some work done to my car.......

So at the moment my car is not sitting in my drive way like it should because i couldn't get it home...

The problem is i couldn't even use gas because my car is set up to start on petrol and when i rev it a little, it changes to gas....

So no start on petrol = no running gas for me...

So i have a wire that is connected to 1 of my spark plug leads and that switch's it to gas when there is high current etc going through the spark plug lead, just wondering what the hell i would do with this wire so it will start on gas and not have to use petrol 1st....

I know this probably wont make sense, and not many people know about gas but i thought i would ask so i can drive my car home and not get it towed....

Thanks in advance, any help would be appreciated

hmm you could try rolling it down a hill, that may fool it, In gear of course. But ive never heard of that before. If the tank lock off solanoid is opening, and the 2nd lock off solanoid before the conver is opening, All youd haft to do is rip the guts out of the Third lock off solanoid that is located on your converter ( black box looking mofo with 2 wires comeing off it )

With mine its set up to give it a squirt of petrol when fireing up on gas, but after that its nothing but gas.

Or my only other suggestion is to get some fuel or start ya bastard wd40 etc and squirt it down your throttle boddy, the car will fire up that way, and if you hold the pedal down it should rev to a point where your gas kicks in. good luck !

thats exactly what i was thinking, i guess its the only way, then drive it to the guy who usually fixes our lpg problems so he can change my switch so its either gas or petrol, none of this starting on petrol crap lol.. (he wont travel so i cant get him to look at it)

you could try getting a very large syringe and filling it with petrol then pushing it into the fuel line( undo filter then start it and swap to gas straight up.
mine has a button under the control box to manualy change it over to gas. you could TRY holding that while cranking. Gas will not flow at start up if
    A. throttle open more then 5%
    b. engine speed below 300rpm

these are both safetl procedures to stop backfires.
If you have a mate in to old style performance cars maybe you can borrow his holley blue pump to start your car.

Belt the tank with your fist or a rubber mellet and try and shock your pump back into life.

    hey mate.

so you dont have a switch at all?

if you do have a switch.. put it onto petrol turn the reds on then change it to gas and crank it till it starts..

this is the method my lpg install told me to take if i run out of petrol and wanted to start the car on gas.

Try bashing the tank with a RUBBER mallet as Haydz said. Or get a jerry can and pour a couple of litres into the tank, this prime the pump making you able to start the car.

Both methods i used when my fuel pump died. best of luck

I forgot to mention mine also has a switch, But it still does give it a squirt of fuel when you are starting on gas, usualy floods it and makes starting a bitch unless you crank it before the fuel pump fully primes.

Nah, i have a switch haydz, 1 side uses ONLY petrol, the other side of the switch HAS TO start on petrol then flicks over to gas when you rev it.... i also tried what you said about the switch and it didn't work.....

Anyways the car is in my driveway right now, and waiting for a new fuel pump to come..
fuel pump is completely dead, the rubber mallet trick didnt work.....

also i used aerostart down the throttle body like davovp said and it worked a charm, gave me the couple seconds i needed for it to switch over...... thanks heaps guys, appreciate the help....

YAY!!! now to take the car to the gas guy and get him to change my switch
