No you should really use a lowered shock you can use stock ones but they'll flog out real quick if they arent already. V6 and v8 use the same strut insert but a different spring, V8's run a heavy duty spring
can anyone tell me, can u go inch and half lower than fe2 on a v6 and still used the original front shocks,and r the part numbers on the front inners the same 4 the v6 and v8,whats the go guys

Lowered struts arent any shorter they just are more heavy duty and have a shorter track (they compress less) the strut insert (lowered shock) goes inside the strut tower and has a large nut that retains the shock. Plenty of companies sell lowered types shocks under different names. Pedders i think are their sports ryders ones monroe do a gt gas sports
these are sort of what you want pretty much the most expensive ones though
