    Default Something wobbly

just quickly, im having this checked out anyway but when i drive on an uneven rd, my steering wheel turns left and right like crazy, like theres no rack in the car, almost like bump steering but its not bottoming out on anything so it cant be. like if my left wheel hit a small ditch the car will pull left

Sounds like you need a new rack, or a major wheel alignment
You can replace a rack yourself its not hard, cost around $200 though and a couple fo hours

got rims? lowered? bumpsteer usually happens with these mods and is normal. Its from the tyre/rim/suspension combination being too stiff for our crap roads in the lovely northern burbs hehe (i noticed some of our roads are really sketchy lately lol crap patchy repairs and poorly maintained)

even bugeye subaru wrx sti's bumpsteered when brand new on crap roads.

this is normal for your car, my vn did it, and my vp does it. you'll probably never fix the problem but replacing worn bushes might help. also as said above, what rims are you running? put stockies on for a day and see if that helps your problem. i had 17s and bump steer was out of hand so i put some stockies on and it drove like a dream.

It's normal? I've got HSV 18's, Ultra lows in the rear, Super lows up front with shockies to suit, and I've never had a problem like whats being described.

Common is prehaps the better word. I have 17's, recent full nolathane, new tyres, fresh alingment, recent RWC check (passed) and it does it all the time. It especially likes the ruts the trucks make at intersections that have suncken a bit.

no way its not normal, ive never had it before, only just recently
maybe one of my control arms is a little out of whack, mite just have to fork out and get it all redone, its probly been 20 years, ive had all the ball joints checked, i had mine on cut springs and 17's and it was still a strait driver, now ive got 18,s good ride height and it never bumps out, its more of a pulling when one wheel dips down

Yer our roads have gotten allot worse which increases wear on our suspension by 5000% LOL (seems that way). And vn's are not the most surefooted with the narrow front track so they seem to me more skittish than the later models i drove.

btw ur not running cut springs still? sif you would LOL

nah just ultras, i still dont understand why ppl carry on about cut springs, ive never had a bad experience with them, but im not going to open up that old can of worms, anyway propper springs propper fe2 shocks, im thinking about a 5l transplant soon so new kframe and bushes should fix her up
